Class in Session for Denton Citizen Foresters and Preservation Tree
March 20, 2018
As a part of Keep Denton Beautiful and Denton Tree Initiative, the Citizen Foresters group is dedicated to being stewards of Denton's treescape and it was an honor and delight to lead a class for them on Tree Inventory Systems. Micah Pace, Preservation Tree's urban forestry specialist, provided the class of volunteers with an insight on how to better the practice of taking care of trees in the city.
Micah covered a wide range of topics pertaining to Urban Tree Inventory Systems, including how to plan for and implement a professional tree inventory project, what tools are available, and how to analyze and manage useful data for enhanced urban forestry management.
Examples of completed projects around the Dallas-Fort Worth area were also shared. Micah is proud to have been a vital partner to many local municipalities, having completed important inventories and assessments for the cities of Arlington, Mesquite, Irving, Plano, and Denton.
