TCIA Certification: The Voice of Tree Care

As one of the earliest tree care companies in Texas to earn accreditation from the Tree Care Industry Association, we’ve long held ahigh standard to uphold the highest quality tree maintenance and public education. Established in 1938, the TCIA is a trade association that
consists of more than 2,200 commercial tree care companies. Their mission is “to advance tree care businesses.” To help companies keep up their certification, the TCIA offers and requires members to engage in continuing education so that those already certified are consistently
kept up-to-date on the latest science-based information regarding tree care. Qualifications for certification include companies that adhere to industry standards for quality and safety, a professional representation of the tree care professionals, and dedication to ethics and quality in business practices.

The TCIA offers the only Certified Tree Care Safety Professionals (CTSP) certification in the tree industry. Our own Ken Smith is a CTSP, often teaching safety classes to area tree crews and climbing in tree competitions.

Homeowners will find the TCIA website to be a resource for more education and a database of local TCIA certified arborists.
